Mrs. Ella McCord first started in 2011 under the name EM Empowerment. She helps the homeless women in the shelters of Metro Atlanta, GA by offering them workshops, Faith Walk Runway Events and job training skills. Professional Etiquette classes along with Health and Wellness Workshops and Bible Study helps them to become self- sufficient again by returning to society with a new outlook on life.
Since 2011, we have worked over 5,000 hours of mentorship programs, served over 2,000 women, 500 men and 10 families. Assisting them with workshops, job training and housing.
Ms. Monique Andrews joined Mrs. McCord in 2020 during the pandemic to assist with the workshops and events. We are excited to announce that as of January 2021 EM Empowerment became Women Empowerment For Success, Inc. a N0n-Profit 501(c)(3) Organization.
During the pandemic we realized that the Consumers of the Salvation Army Shelter Red Shield in Atlanta, GA needed us more then ever. We knew that personally the pandemic was hard for us; so we made sure to continue the programs because it was very much necessary. That is when we decide to start working with the men and families.
As of April 2023, we are now partners with Grove Park Renewal assisting them with the residents at the Villas Of Hope Apartments. We are conducting Health and Wellness workshops, computer classes, mentoring, life skills, Bible studyand events to elevate the community comradery.
